Government of Plateau State

Plateau State is the twelfth largest state of Nigeria, and is roughly located in the center of the country. It is geographically unique in Nigeria because its boundaries totally surround the Jos Plateau, having the Jos Plateau totally in its central and northern part. Its capital is Jos. Plateau State is celebrated as "The Home of Peace and Tourism". Plateau State gets its name from the Jos Plateau. It has a population of around 3.5 million people.

Government of Sokoto State

Sokoto State in its present form came into being in October 1996 when Zamfara State was created by the, then Head of State and Commander-in-Chief of the Arm Forces, Federal Republic of Nigeria, General Sani Abacha GCFR.

With a land area of 28,232.37sq kilometer, Sokoto State is located between longitudes 11o 30` to 13o 50` East and latitude 4o to 6o North. It is bordered in the North by Niger Republic, Zamfara State to the East and Kebbi State to the South and West.

Government of Taraba State

Taraba State was created on August 27th, 1991 when the Babangida Military Administration carved it out of the defunct Gongola State.

The State derives its name from one of the three major rivers and covers a land area of 59,400 square kilometres. At inception, the state comprised only ten Local Government Areas namely; Jalingo, Donga (created on 27th August 1991 Zing, Lau, Karim Lamido, Sardauna, Bali, Gashaka, Wukari and Takum.

The State currently has sixteen local government areas as a result of the creation of the following new LGAs; Ibi and Yorro in September 1991 and Ardo Kola, Kurmi, Ussa and Gassol in 1996.

There is also Yangtu, a Special Development area created by Danbaba administration in 2008 and NGADA Special Development Area which was created by Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku in September 2016.

Government of Yobe State

Carved out of the old Borno State, Yobe, which derived its name from River Yobe, was created as a state on 27th August1991, by the then Federal Military Administration led by retired Army General, Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida. It was the culmination of years of effort by many people whose objective was to ensure accelerated and sustainable socio-economic development across the areas and communities that now make up the state.

Yobe has a political structure comprising of 17 local government councils and 178 wards. It also has 14 emirate councils. Its capital is Damaturu. The State covers an estimated area of 47,153 square kilometers and shares borders with Borno State to the east, Gombe State to the south, Bauchi State to the west, Jigawa State to the north-west, and has an international border to the north with Niger Republic.

Government of Zamfara State

Zamfara is a state in northwestern Nigeria. The capital of Zamfara state is Gusau and its current Governor is Bello Matawalle. Until 1996, the area was part of Sokoto State.  It is bordered to the north by the Republic of the Niger, to the south by Kaduna State, to the east by Katsina State, and to the west by the states of Sokoto and Niger. It has a population of 9,278,873 according to the 2006 census and contains fourteen local government areas.

Ministry of Interior

The Ministry of Interior was created in 2015 following a merger between the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Police Affairs. It is a Federal Government Organ which evolved from the Ministry of Internal Affairs which was created in 1957. It came as a result of the merger of various Departments and Units of Government over the years. Some of its components like Prisons were pulled out from the defunct Native Authorities of the Federation; other arms of it, like the Immigration Service, came from the old Nigeria Police Force while other units were previously in the office of the Secretary of State in the Colonial days.

Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs (MNDA)

The Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs was created on September 10, 2008 by His Excellency, President Umaru Musa Yar’adua to promote and coordinate policies for the development, peace and security of the Niger Delta Region.  

The creation of the Ministry was a direct response to the series of agitations by the people of the Region on the perceived sense of exclusion, environmental degradation, poverty and unemployment facing the Region.

Ministry of Petroleum Resources (MPR)

 The creation of the Ministry of Petroleum Resources was necessitated by the need to develop and implement sound policies that will serve as a back bone for the rapid development of the then burgeoning oil and gas sector. The Ministry is saddled with the responsibility for the articulation, implementation and regulation of policies in the Oil and gas Sector. It also exercises supervisory role over the operators and stakeholders, to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations in the Oil and Gas.

Ministry of Police Affairs

The Ministry is to, among others initiate, formulate and implement policies and programs relating to policing and internal security as well as to provide supervision and administrative support to the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), the Police Academy (POLAC) and the newly established Nigeria Police Trust Fund (NPTF).
